BGB Seizes Drugs, Contraband Items Worth Tk 5.5m in Chuadanga

Chuadanga: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) confiscated various drugs and smuggled goods worth over Tk 5.5 million in a week-long operation in the district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation was conducted by Chuadanga Battalion BGB-6 from July 23 to July 30, as stated in a press release. The Assistant Director of Chuadanga Battalion emphasized that BGB is maintaining a strong stance against drug smuggling along the border. As part of its ongoing efforts, the Chuadanga Battalion carried out extensive anti-drug and anti-smuggling drives in the Chuadanga and Meherpur border regions.



During the week-long operation, BGB confiscated a variety of items. These included 10.834 kg of Indian granular silver, 144 bottles of foreign liquor, 14 kg of cannabis, 38 bottles of Phensedyl, 20 grams of heroin, 44 pieces of Viagra tablets, 100 pieces of China Duari fishing nets, 29 pieces of sarees, 13 pieces of three-piece sets, 20 kg of onion seeds, 200 pieces of bidi, 127 pieces of cosmetic products, and two mobile phones.



Two alleged smugglers were arrested during the operation and handed over to the police stations concerned.
