The call for a school construction in Punnamanichhara came during a visit on July 30, 2024, by Lt. Col. Mohammad Tanzilur Rahman Bhuiyan, who
was engaged in his routine activities in the border area of Kachutali TOB. During his visit, he interacted with local traders, community members, and the general populace, who highlighted the need for an educational facility.
The BGB’s Kaptai Battalion and Waggachhara Zone Harmony and Development Project responded by initiating the construction of the school house in Punnamanichhara Para, located 111 km from the zone headquarters. This initiative aims to provide quality education to children from 55 families, which include 47 families from the Chakma community and 8 from the Tanchangya community.
