Thanchi: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel today rescued a seriously ill tourist from the remote Bagher Langlok waterfall area in Thanchi upazila of the district and took him to a hospital for treatment. The tourist, Nafis Mashrur Islam, was visiting the remote waterfall with a six-member team from Mirpur in Dhaka when he fell seriously ill, said a BGB press release issued this evening.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a BGB rescue team from Tendummukh BGB Camp, under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel Md Yasir Arafat Hossain, commander of Bolipara Battalion (38 BGB), responded promptly. The team rushed to the location in two boats to assist the tourist and his companions.
The BGB personnel provided first aid and necessary assistance to Nafis Mashrur Islam and ensured their safe transportation by boat to Thanchi Upazila Health Complex. They arrived at the health complex around 4:00 pm, where arrangements were made for the tourist's medical treatment.
