BGB recover 27,000 yaba tablets, 1 kg heroin in C’nawabganj

59 battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 27,000 pieces of yaba tablet and one kg of heroin from Chakpara frontier in Shibganj upazila of the district last night.

BGB said, a special patrol team of BGB led by the Commanding Officer (CO) of 59 battalion of BGB Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria conducted a raid in a mango orchard at Batulpara about 50 yards inside Bangladesh territory from border at around 9:30 pm and saw five smugglers coming towards Bangladesh from India.

As BGB men chased them, they fled away leaving two bags.

After searching the bags BGB found the yaba tablets and heroin, the sources added.
