Bandarban:The paramilitary force Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has inaugurated a newly-constructed 'Chhota Agla Tactical Operating Base (TOB)' in the border area of Kurukpata Union under Alikadam upazila to enhance border security, surveillance, and operational capabilities.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the TOB was inaugurated this morning by BGB Cox's Bazar Region Commander Brigadier General Kazi Samsher Uddin. The Ramu Battalion (30 BGB), under the BGB's Cox's Bazar Region and Ramu Sector, was responsible for the construction of the TOB at Chhota Agla.

The facility's location close to the border is expected to enable the force to more effectively prevent smuggling and illegal entry, conduct surveillance, and carry out other operational activities. During the inauguration, the region commander provided necessary instructions to the BGB personnel assigned to the TOB.

The inauguration was attended by Ramu Sector Commander Colonel Md Anwar-ul-Alam, Cox's Bazar Region Director (Operations) Lieutenant Colonel Md Mofizur Rahman Bhuiyan, Ramu Battalion (30 BGB) Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Imrul Kayes Mehedi, Assistant Director Md Kabir Hossain, and other BGB personnel.

BGB noted that surveillance and operational activities had previously faced challenges due to the distance of existing Border Outposts (BOPs) from the border. The newly-established TOB will increase BGB presence along the border and strengthen its capacity to respond swiftly to incidents. The facility is also expected to enhance the security of local residents and increase their confidence in the border security force.
