BGB Distributes 600 Blankets to Cold-Stricken Residents in Cumilla

Cumilla: The Cumilla Battalion (10 BGB) took significant steps today to aid cold-stricken residents by distributing winter blankets in Chauddagram upazila. This initiative is part of the battalion’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support vulnerable communities during the harsh winter season.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 600 blankets were distributed at Amangonda Adarsh High School. The operation was supervised by the Cumilla Battalion and aimed at helping families struggling with severe winter conditions. The event was attended by Brigadier General Mohammad Saiful Islam Chowdhury, who serves as the Region Commander and Additional Director General of BGB at Sarail Headquarters.

The event also saw the presence of Cumilla Sector Commander Rakibul Hasan and Lieutenant Colonel Mir Ali Ejaz, Commander of Cumilla Battalion (10 BGB), along with other officers, junior commissioned officers, and members of the Border Guard Bangladesh. The officials emphasized their commitment to humanitarian duties alongside their primary responsibilities of border security and smuggling prevention.

Speakers at the event highlighted that the blanket distribution is part of BGB’s regular winter activities. The program is designed to assist poor and distressed individuals living in border areas, ensuring they receive necessary support during the colder months.
