Pilkhana: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui today inaugurated the week-long ‘Tree Plantation Campaign-2025’ of the paramilitary force. The BGB chief started the campaign by planting a Bakul tree sapling on the Bakultala premises of the BGB headquarters in Pilkhana this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the theme of this year’s national tree plantation campaign is “Planned afforestation, build a green Bangladesh”. The BGB chief emphasized the importance of planting trees in designated areas within all BGB establishments nationwide, including the headquarters, and stressed the need for proper care and maintenance to ensure the success of the program.
“We have gathered here today for a great purpose. Exactly one year ago in July, a new time has come to take the country forward and build the country through the student-public mass uprising,” Major General Siddiqui stated. He highlighted the collective efforts of various forces and citizens in striving to develop the country in a renewed manner.
The BGB chief also expressed his prayers for the eternal peace of the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising and wished a speedy recovery for those injured.
