Chapainawabganj: As the Holy month of Ramadan nears its end, preparations for Eid celebrations are underway across the country. Amid the festivities, members of the Mahananda BGB-59 Battalion brought joy to orphaned children by distributing Eid gifts at a local orphanage in Chapainawabganj.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, on Wednesday morning, Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria, commander of BGB-59 Battalion, visited Shishu Sadan located in the Chakpustam area of Gomostapur upazila. During the visit, he handed over new clothes and essential food items including rice, semai, and oil to the children to support their Eid celebrations.
The initiative aimed not only to meet the children’s basic needs but also to share a sense of care, compassion, and inclusion during the festive season. Speaking after the distribution, Lt. Col. Golam Kibria said, “There can be no greater achievement than bringing a smile to the faces of orphaned children. They are part of our society, and their happiness is our responsibility.”
He further encouraged people from all walks of life to extend support to disadvantaged children, emphasizing that collective efforts can ensure no child feels neglected or alone.
