BFUJ slams dialogues on DSA avoiding it

BFUJ-Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) has said avoiding the apex body of journalists, the dialogues on the Digital Security Act (DSA), being held by the government, will not acceptable in any way.

In a statement issued today, BFUJ President Omar Faruque and its general secretary Dip Azad said Law Minister Anisul Huq initiated dialogues with civil society but the BFUJ was one of the key stockholders in discussion on DSA held with the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Law Ministry.

They demanded including the BFJU to the ongoing dialogues on the DSA too.

The BFJU leaders also demanded stopping the misuse of the law against journalists and media workers and amending the DSA through consultations with the apex journalistsโ€™ body.
