Dhaka: The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is in the process of appointing Iranian-born Futsal trainer Saeid Khodarahmi as the coach of the Bangladesh Futsal team for a period of three months, according to a press release. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the appointment comes as the team prepares for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, which are scheduled to be held from September 20-24 in Malaysia. In preparation for the event, the BFF organized a two-day trial at the Shaheed Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on July 20-21 to select talented Futsal players aged between 18 and 35. During the trial, a total of 1,138 players registered, with 630 participating over the two days. Out of these, 53 players were initially selected. The next step involves narrowing down to 24 players, with the final squad consisting of 14 members. The selection process was conducted by football coaches Alfaz Ahmed, Saifuzzaman Shamim, and Rashed Chowdhury, along with elite staff from the BFF Elite Football A cademy.
