Dhaka: The Bangladesh Fertilizer Association (BFA) has instructed fertilizer dealers nationwide to adhere to government-fixed prices, ensuring farmers have access to affordable fertilizer.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BFA issued a notice, signed by Chairman Md. Mosharraf Hossain, directing dealers to deposit funds timely, collect fertilizer promptly, and store it properly in designated warehouses. The notice emphasized the importance of informing the concerned Upazila Agriculture Officer about fertilizer arrivals, maintaining accurate sales records, and conducting regular monitoring to prevent inflated pricing.
The BFA cautioned that failure to comply with these directives could result in the cancellation of dealership licenses and potential legal consequences. Dealers were urged to remain vigilant against any attempts by individuals or groups to unjustly attribute the sale of overpriced fertilizer to them.
The association further advised maintaining consistent communication with local agricultural offices and administrations. This is to ensure seamless distribution and to mitigate any irregularities in fertilizer sales across the country.
