BERC Reduces Jet Fuel Prices for Domestic and International Airlines

Dhaka: Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today announced a reduction in the price of Jet A-1 fuel, impacting both domestic and international airlines.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the regulatory commission's circular specified a price decrease of Tk 3.53 per litre for domestic carriers, bringing the cost down from Tk 99.62 to Tk 96.09 per litre. For international airlines, the price has been reduced by $0.0169 per litre, lowering the rate from $0.6502 to $0.6333 per litre.

The new pricing structure, as outlined in the circular, is set to take effect from 12 noon. BERC stated that the adjustments were made based on the Platts Rate from August 5 to September 4, with the new rates applicable for September 2025.

BERC also clarified that Bangladeshi operators of domestic flights will purchase jet fuel at Tk 96.09 per litre, while both local and foreign operators of international flights will pay $0.6333 per litre.
