Dhaka: Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced a reduction in the price of Jet A-1 fuel for both domestic and international airlines by Tk 9.68 per litre.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a commission circular released today details the new pricing structure. The price for domestic carriers has been reduced to Tk 94.93 per litre from the previous Tk 104.61. Similarly, for international airlines, the price has been decreased by US$0.0629 per litre, setting the new rate at US$0.6246 down from US$0.6875.
The revised pricing will be implemented starting from midnight. The regulatory body explained that this decision was made after considering the Platts Rate from December 5, 2025, to January 4, 2026, leading to the decrease in jet fuel prices for the month of January 2026.
A public hearing was conducted by the BERC today under Sections 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003. This was in response to proposals from Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL).
