Be United to Rebuild Bangladesh, Fakhrul Urges NRBs

New york: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today urged non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) to be united to rebuild Bangladesh. “I have an appeal to you…let us be united today about one thing – about Bangladesh,” he told an event here.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event titled “NRB Connect Day: Empowering Global Bangladeshis” was held at New York Marriott Marquis (1535 Broadway), Manhattan, this afternoon. Speaking at a session of the event, Fakhrul emphasized the importance of dreaming and carrying forward the visions that Prof Yunus had envisioned.



Fakhrul also highlighted the need for commitment, noting that previous regimes had destroyed their confidence, which led to the country’s downfall. He mentioned that the BNP is contributing to the reform commissions formed by the interim government and assured that BNP’s efforts will focus on benefiting Bangladesh and its people.



He further mentioned that the country’s youth have modern thoughts and that there is a willingness to embrace their way of thinking. Fakhrul expressed hope that the young girls of Bangladesh would play a crucial role in the nation’s future development.



Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Syeed Abdullah Muhammad Taher and National Citizen Party (NCP) Member Secretary Akhter Hossen were also speakers at the session. The event’s keynote speech was delivered by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
