Sylhet: Women and Children Affairs Secretary Mamtaz Ahmed today called upon the women at grassroots level to make them self-reliant by getting necessary training. ‘Women at the grassroots can build themselves as self-reliant through getting required trainings,’ she said while inspecting a training centre and sale centre of a project undertaken for making grassroots level women economically solvent at Shahjalal Uposhor in Sylhet.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, she noted that many women have become financially solvent after taking the training and have even created job opportunities for others. She emphasized the importance of not remaining idle at home after completing training, but rather striving to become successful entrepreneurs. Mamtaz highlighted the potential for these women to gain a position in society and contribute to the welfare of the country.
The Secretary offered various pieces of advice to the trainees to encourage them to pursue entrepreneurship. Her visit was accompanied by concerned government officials who were present to support the initiative.
