Dhaka: The National Board of Revenue (NBR) today conducted a pre-budget consultation meeting with the Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) at its office in the city in preparation for the national budget for FY 2026-2027. The session was presided over by NBR Chairman Md. Abdur Rahman Khan and was attended by senior officials of the revenue authority, as noted in a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BCCCI delegation, led by its President Mohd. Khorshed Alam, featured Director Amanur Rahman, a representative from Xiaomi Technologies Bangladesh Private Limited, and Executive Director Md. Abu Taher. The delegation presented several proposals with an emphasis on the textile sector, chemical industry, and a reduction of VAT at the trading stage of mobile phones. These recommendations were made with the goal of facilitating trade, attracting investment, and supporting business growth.
The NBR Chairman expressed his appreciation for the proposals and assured that the recommendations would be reviewed and potentially considered in the formulation of the national budget for FY 2026-2027.
