BB Allows Banks to Send Up to $15,000 for Treatment Abroad

Dhaka: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has granted permission for banks to send up to $15,000 for medical treatment abroad. The announcement, made via a BB circular issued today, outlines the new regulations for transferring funds for healthcare purposes.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the funds can be sent in foreign currencies directly to the hospital or through an international card. The circular specifies that the maximum cash release limit in such cases is set at $5,000. Any transfer exceeding these stipulated limits will require prior regulatory approval.
