Dhaka: Bangladesh Animal Welfare Association (BAWA), a welfare organization affiliated with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has initiated efforts to aid animals in Saintmartin. This action follows the directives of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the initiative is led by BAWA’s chief coordinator, Atikur Rahman Rumon, who, along with his team, traveled to Saintmartin with administrative permission. Their mission includes feeding various animals such as dogs, along with other species, as part of a broader animal welfare campaign.

A team of veterinary experts is set to join the campaign, which is scheduled to last a week. The activities planned for this campaign include feeding the animals, administering vaccinations, and providing medical care to those that are injured.

Present at the campaign were several key figures from the Bangladesh Animal Welfare Association, including convener Adnan Azad, and organization members Imran Rashed, Simanta Sarkar, Toufiq Situ, Shubhrota Sarkar, Mizanur Rahman Tasib, and Faisal Bin Azam. Their presence underscores the commitment of BAWA to improving the welfare of animals in the region.
