Mymensingh: The student organization ‘Hopes of Humanity Center’ from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) held a tree plantation program in the Kewatkhali area of Mymensingh today. A total of 1,000 Rupali tree saplings were distributed – 800 on September 5 and 200 the day before – among teachers, students, and local residents.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, S M Sajjad Ul Islam, Managing Director of the organization and a BAU student, emphasized the dual benefits of tree plantation for both the environment and humanity, expressing the organization’s aim to build a greener, more sustainable Bangladesh.

The head teacher of Premier Ideal School, where the initiative began, highlighted the significance of involving students in such actions, stating, “Placing a tree in students’ hands means placing the future in their hands. We’re proud this effort started at our school.”

Community leaders have praised the initiative, acknowledging the lasting benefits the saplings will provide and the role they play as a symbol of collective action.

Organizers have announced plans to expand the program, with 2,000 more saplings to be distributed in Khulna and Bagerhat districts.
