Mymensingh: Arif, a student at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), has emerged as a successful young entrepreneur by overcoming challenges and achieving success in the entrepreneurial world.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Arif is currently the founder and CEO of the EdTech startup 'NonAcademy', while still being a fourth-year student in the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology. NonAcademy, which began its journey on November 21, 2021, is focused on developing skills and creating employment opportunities for the underprivileged. In just a few years, it has evolved into a successful venture offering technology-based courses such as Blockchain, data science, machine learning, and web development.
The platform has so far assisted over 1,300 students by enhancing their skills, creating job opportunities, and fostering an environment for entrepreneurship. NonAcademy currently employs 11 permanent staff and numerous contractual members. Arif's income now surpasses the monthly earnings of a first-class government official in Bangladesh.
Arif's path to success was not without setbacks. His initial venture failed during the Covid-19 pandemic, but he persevered. Through his experiences, he identified gaps in the country's education system and discovered opportunities within those gaps. Arif aims to show that success can be attained through skills beyond traditional academia.
NonAcademy is distinctive for its lack of degree or certificate requirements. The only prerequisites for participation are basic computer knowledge and a willingness to learn. Arif also has plans to expand the initiative beyond online offerings by launching offline activities in the future.
