Dhaka: Kaniz Moula, Secretary of the Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat, and Babul Miah, Additional Secretary of the Planning Commission, have been elected as the new president and secretary general, respectively, of the Bangladesh Administration Service Association (BASA). The elections were concluded during a meeting held at the BIAM Auditorium in the capital on Sunday night.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the newly formed committee also includes the appointment of Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Chairman Md Fazlur Rahman as treasurer. Additionally, the Secretary of the Food Ministry, Md Firoz Sarkar, and Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharf Uddin Ahmed Choudhury have been elected as vice-presidents.
Further appointments include Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Md Moniruzzaman Mia, who has been named deputy treasurer. Joint secretaries AKM Hafizullah Khan Liton of the Local Government Division and Nurjahan Khanam of the Finance Division have been appointed as joint general secretaries.
The Bangladesh Administrative Service Association announced that the names of the remaining members of the 52-member committee will be disclosed soon.
