Dhaka: All scheduled banks in Bangladesh will remain closed on August 5 in observance of “July Uprising Day,” a newly declared public holiday. This announcement follows a recent circular issued by the central bank.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the central bank’s circular instructed all scheduled banks to suspend operations on that day, aligning with a government notification from the Cabinet Division. The notification officially designated August 5 as a national holiday, ensuring all banking activities will be halted to honor the occasion.
