Dhaka: BanglaFact, the fact check and media research team of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), has uncovered a malicious attempt to create confusion by producing a photo of Joy-Trump using AI and spreading it on social media.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a photo card featuring Donald Trump and Sajeeb Wazed Joy under the title 'Joy invited to the White House, Bangladesh politics is taking a turn for the worse' has been circulating on Facebook. BanglaFact has verified that this claim is incorrect. The photo card was initially shared for entertainment purposes by a sarcasm page named Gajab Vision, before it was spread further under the guise of being a real incident. Upon verification using an AI tool, the photo of Joy-Trump was found to be AI-generated.
BanglaFact has identified hundreds of pieces of false information circulating on the internet, emphasizing the importance of verifying the authenticity of information shared on social media platforms.
