Dhaka: Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves stood at US$36.96 billion (gross), according to the latest data released by Bangladesh Bank (BB) today. The figures indicate a growth in the nation's reserves, which are crucial for maintaining economic stability and supporting international trade.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the country's gross foreign exchange reserves reached US$36.96 billion. Meanwhile, reserves calculated under the IMF's BPM6 methodology stood at US$32.15 billion. This difference highlights the variance in calculation methods and offers insights into the nation's financial health.

The current reserve levels are significant for Bangladesh as they provide a buffer against potential economic shocks and help manage currency fluctuations. They also play a vital role in ensuring the country's ability to meet its international financial obligations.
