Dhaka: Emergency workers are trying to rescue victims from the crash site, a two-story school building located in the northern part of Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka. The majority of those killed or injured in the incident are students.
According to Deutsche Welle, one of the school's teachers, Masud Tarik, narrowly avoided the crash. He recounted that, while picking up children and approaching the school gate, he suddenly heard an explosion and saw fire and smoke behind him. The area was crowded with many parents and children at the time.
As rescue operations continue, helicopters are transporting the injured to nearby hospitals, while families endure an agonizing wait for news about their loved ones.
