Dhaka: Bangladesh Youth Hockey Team is gearing up to participate in the ‘FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025,’ scheduled to take place in Tamil Nadu, India, from November 28 to December 10.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh National Youth Hockey Team’s jersey unveiling, photo session, and a press meet were organized by the Bangladesh Hockey Federation at the Falcon Hall of the Air Force. The event highlighted the team’s readiness and featured Chief of Air Staff and President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, who attended as the chief guest. He encouraged the players to compete with confidence.
Notable attendees included senior officials from the Air Force, National Sports Council, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and officials from the Hockey Federation. The World Cup will see participation from 24 countries, divided into six pools. Representing Asia, Bangladesh will compete alongside India, China, Japan, Korea, and Oman. Bangladesh is placed in Pool ‘F’ with France, Australia, and Korea. Their first match is set against Australia on November 29 at the Chennai ground.
In preparation for the World Cup, the Bangladesh Youth Hockey Team underwent an extensive five-month training camp from July to November, which included a preparatory tournament in Malaysia.
