Dhaka: Bangladesh women's national football team will take on strong Korea Republic in their second Group F match of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 today (Thursday) at Nagai Stadium in Osaka, Japan. The match will kick off at 1pm Bangladesh time. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh centre-back Sheuli Azim mentioned that the team had identified the areas that need improvement following their disappointing performance against DPR Korea in their opening match. Bangladesh suffered a heavy 10-0 defeat to DPR Korea, highlighting the need for strategic adjustments. Sheuli Azim emphasized the importance of reducing the number of goals conceded in the upcoming match against Korea Republic, acknowledging the strength of their next opponent. She expressed the team's commitment to minimizing errors and improving their performance. "It gave us a clear understanding of the areas where we need to improve. We'll try not to repeat the small mistakes we made in the previous match," Sheuli said in a v ideo message on Wednesday. The Bangladesh team is aware of the formidable challenge posed by both DPR Korea and Korea Republic, particularly their pace and speed. Sheuli noted that while there may be some differences between the two teams, their agility will require Bangladesh to focus on playing to their strengths and maintaining their defensive composure. "Our next opponent is also a very strong team," Sheuli stated, "We'll try to keep the number of goals conceded as low as possible. Ideally, we would not concede any goals, but we'll do our best." Sheuli's remarks reflect the team's determination to enhance their defensive strategy and deliver an improved performance in their second group match.
