Bangladesh Women’s Football Team Heads to Laos for AFC U-20 Qualifiers

Dhaka: Bangladesh women’s football team departed today for Laos to compete in the qualifying round of the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers 2026.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the team, which clinched the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship, is placed in Group H alongside South Korea, Timor-Leste, and Cambodia. Their campaign in the U-20 Women’s Asian Cup will begin against Cambodia on August 6.



The team will face Timor-Leste and South Korea on August 8 and 10 respectively, with all matches scheduled at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane, Laos. This tournament features thirty-three Asian teams divided into eight groups. The eight group winners and the best three runners-up will advance to the 12-team final round in Thailand.



The final round of this biennial championship, organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for Asia’s women’s under-20 teams, will be held in Thailand next year. The Bangladesh squad comprises players like Mile Akter, Mst Fardosi Akter Shonale, and Swarna Rani Mandal, among others.
