Faisalabad:The Bangladesh Under-19 Women's cricket team experienced a narrow four-wicket defeat against Sri Lanka in a last-ball finish during the Tri-nation series in Faisalabad, Pakistan.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the match ended in favor of Sri Lanka, who chased down Bangladesh's total of 119-7 by reaching 120-6. This defeat followed Bangladesh's initial victory over Pakistan's U19 Women's team, whom they beat by 30 runs.

After electing to bat first, Bangladesh struggled initially, losing three wickets for just 28 runs by the eighth over. Captain Sadia Islam played a crucial role, scoring 39 runs off 22 balls, and together with Nishita Akter Nishi, who scored 26, they managed to stabilize the innings with a 56-run partnership. However, Bangladesh's lower order could not build on this foundation, leaving them with a modest total.

Despite the low score, Bangladesh's bowlers maintained pressure on Sri Lanka, taking wickets at regular intervals. Sri Lanka's opener, Sanjana Kavindi, scored 48 off 46 balls, providing crucial stability for her team. Her innings brought the match down to the last over, where Danodya Sewmini and Limanasa Thilakarathna successfully completed the chase on the final ball.

Nishita Akter Nishi was instrumental with the ball as well, taking 2-26, but her efforts, along with the team's fighting spirit, were not enough to secure a win.
