Harare: Captain Azizul Hakim Tamim's resilient half-century was not enough to prevent the Bangladesh Under-19 team from being bowled out for 175 in 44.5 overs in their third game of the tri-nation tournament against South Africa at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Hakim was the standout performer for Bangladesh, scoring 59 off 81 balls, including five fours and two sixes. Despite his efforts, the team struggled to maintain momentum after his departure. Kalam Siddiki contributed with an unbeaten 49, helping the team surpass the 150-run mark. However, only three Bangladeshi batsmen managed to reach double figures, with Rizan Hossain adding 17 runs.
The South African bowlers, with Ntando Soni and Bayanda Majole leading the charge, took two wickets each, derailing the Bangladeshi innings after they chose to bat first. Bangladesh Under-19 is aiming for their third consecutive victory in the tournament, which would significantly boost their chances of reaching the final.
