Khulna: The city BNP leaders here today expressed confidence that Bangladesh would emerge as a safe, democratic, and prosperous state under the leadership of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, they highlighted Tarique Rahman’s political foresight and commitment to democracy and accountability, which they believe will play a vital role in navigating the country out of its current crisis.
These remarks were made at a pre-rally gathering organized by Khulna City BNP, held on Monday afternoon, in anticipation of an ‘Ananda Rally’ marking the scheduled homecoming of Tarique Rahman on December 25. The leaders emphasized that the BNP is working with a clear roadmap to enhance the effectiveness and accountability of state institutions, establish the rule of law, and restore economic stability.
They further described the state structure reform proposals announced by Tarique Rahman as reflective of the long-cherished aspirations of the people, asserting that the implementation of these reforms would help restore democracy, ensure good governance, and protect fundamental rights. The leaders expressed that Tarique Rahman’s return would inspire renewed hope among pro-democracy forces, as the people are eager to exercise their voting rights through a free, fair, and participatory election. The BNP remains committed to the movement to achieve this goal.
The meeting was chaired by City BNP President Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona and addressed by several other prominent figures, including General Secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, Masud Parvez Babu, Chowdhury Hasanur Rashid Miraj, K.M. Humayun Kabir, among others. Following the meeting, BNP leaders and activists conducted an “Ananda Rally” marching through various city streets, chanting slogans in support of restoring democracy, holding free elections, and welcoming the return of Tarique Rahman.
