Dhaka: A six-member Bangladesh tennis team is set to depart for Bahrain tomorrow to compete in the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group-5 tennis tournament. The event is scheduled to take place in Isa Town, Bahrain, from November 17 to 23.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the national men's teams from several countries, including hosts Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei, Laos, Macau, Maldives, Myanmar, Northern Mariana Islands, Tajikistan, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen, will participate in the competition. The tournament is being organized by the Bahrain Tennis Federation.
In preparation for the tournament, a photo session of the Bangladesh team was held today at the National Tennis Complex in Ramna. The team, led by captain Tanvir Pasha from Gulshan Club, includes players Zarif Abrar, Jubin Omar, Mohammad Rustam Ali, Md Emon, and Mohammad Bhuiyan. They represent various clubs across Bangladesh, such as the Cantonment Officer Club, American Club, Tennis Club in Rajshahi, and Uttara Club.
The Bangladesh tennis team is scheduled to return home on November 24, following the conclusion of the tournament.
