Bangladesh Tennis Team Departs for Davis Cup in Bahrain.

Dhaka: A four-member team from Bangladesh has departed for Bahrain to participate in the ‘2024 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group-5’ tennis tournament, which is set to take place from November 18 to 24 in Isa Town. The tournament is a significant event on the tennis calendar and will see a host of nations from the Asia/Oceania region compete for a chance to advance to the next group level.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tournament will feature teams from host Bahrain, as well as Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Laos, Macau, Maldives, Mongolia, Yemen, Nepal, Tajikistan, Guam, Turkmenistan, Northern Marina Island, and the Philippines. The event is organized under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation and managed by the Bahrain Tennis Federation.

The competition will commence with all participating teams divided into four groups, competing in a round-robin league format. The two teams emerging as champions from this phase will earn promotion to Group-4, where they will compete in the 2025 Dav
is Cup Asia/Oceania region group-4. The Bangladesh tennis team is scheduled to return home on November 25.
