Bangladesh Suffers Heavy Defeat Against South Korea in Asian Games Hockey Opener

Kawasaki juko stadium: Bangladesh began their men's hockey campaign at the 20th Asian Games with a 5-0 defeat to South Korea in their opening Group A match held today at Kawasaki Juko Stadium in Japan. South Korea took control of the match early, securing a 3-0 lead by half-time, which set the tone for the rest of the game.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, South Korea scored three goals in the second quarter, leaving Bangladesh unable to find the back of the net in the first half. The dominant performance continued as South Korea added one goal each in the third and fourth quarters, effectively shutting out Bangladesh throughout the match.

Bangladesh is set to face host Japan in their second group match on September 22. They will then play against Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and India on September 24, 26, and 28, respectively, at the same venue. Meanwhile, Bangladesh's women's hockey team is preparing to make its Asian Games debut against China on September 20 at Kawasaki Heavy Industries Hockey Stadium.
