Accra:The country received $9.366 billion in workers' remittances from July to October 7 during the current fiscal year, marking a 13.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year, based on recent Bangladesh Bank data.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, Bangladesh received $8.278 billion in remittances. The data indicates a strong upward trend in remittance inflow, with $774 million sent by expatriate Bangladeshis from October 1 to 7, compared to $692 million in the same week of 2025, an 11.8 percent rise.

On October 7 alone, the remittance inflow amounted to $129 million. This consistent growth in remittance inflow is bolstering the country's foreign exchange reserves and external-sector stability, while enhancing the flow of foreign currency through formal banking channels.
