Dhaka: Bangladesh’s remittance inflow reached a record high of $3.29 billion in March, marking a 64.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This inflow represents the highest remittance received in a single month in the country’s history.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the previous year saw remittances of $1.99 billion during March. The current fiscal year’s inflow for March surpassed the $2.53 billion received in February, which was then the fourth-highest monthly inflow in the country’s history. Prior to March, the highest monthly remittance was recorded in December of the previous year at $2.64 billion.
Expatriates have sent a total of $21.78 billion in remittances from July 2024 to March 2025 of the current fiscal year. This figure was $17.08 billion for the same period in the previous fiscal year, indicating a significant increase in remittance inflows.
