Washington dc: Bangladesh is set to engage in the second round of negotiations with the United States on the Agreement on Reciprocal Tariff, scheduled to take place from July 9-11, 2025. This development comes after an invitation extended by the United States Trade Representative (USTR) to Bangladesh.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh is among the first countries to resume discussions following a letter from President Trump addressed to leaders of 14 nations on July 7. The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing released a statement highlighting Bangladesh’s eagerness to advance talks and finalize the agreement swiftly.
Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin will lead the Bangladeshi delegation in Washington DC, while National Security Adviser Dr. Khalilur Rahman will participate virtually from Dhaka. The delegation includes senior officials such as the Commerce Secretary and an Additional Commerce Secretary, who have already arrived in Washington DC for the talks.
The statement also indicated Bangladesh’s intention to build upon the outcomes of the initial round of negotiations held on June 27, aiming for a successful conclusion to the agreement.
