Makkah: Bangladesh Navy has achieved an outstanding success in the 8th International Hifzul Quran and Recitation Competition, held in Makkah of Saudi Arabia from January 31 to February 1.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the competition was held with the participation of military members from different countries across the world, as stated in a release from the Directorate of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) this afternoon. The event saw 179 military contestants from 32 countries competing in various categories.
Two members of the Bangladesh Navy participated in the group-based competition and secured silver medals in two distinct categories. In the Holy Quran segment, Ghulam Rabbani and Mohammad Sabbir Ahmed from the Bangladesh Navy were awarded silver medals in the ‘Para Group’ competition.
The competition concluded with a ceremony at the Hilton Convention Hall of Makkah al-Mukarramah on February 9, as mentioned by the ISPR.
