State Minister for Social Welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru today said Bangladesh is moving forward at an indomitable pace under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Our country has been advancing to progress and prosperity in an indomitable pace due to the skilled and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who renders service round-the-clock only to ensure welfare of the people and country’s development,” Khasru said this while distributing cheques among the poor and meritorious students of the district at local public hall here marking mournful month of August.
The state minister also urged the people to cast vote for “Boat”, the electoral symbol of Awami League, in next general election to continue the current development spree of the country.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner in Netrakona Shahed Parvez, the cheque distribution ceremony was addressed, among others, by Police Super Foyaz Ahmed, Netrakona Municipality Mayor Nazrul Islam Khan and Deputy Director of Social Service Department Mohammad Alal Uddin.
The state minister distributed the cheques amounting Taka 10 lakh and 60 thousand among 212 poverty-stricken and meritorious students of the district.
