Bangladesh Emerging Team Set for South Africa Tour

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Emerging Team is set to depart for South Africa tomorrow for a tour comprising a one-day tri-series and two four-day matches. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tri-series will feature the Bangladesh Emerging Team, the South Africa Emerging Team, and the USSA Team. The tournament will commence on July 30 with a match between South Africa Emerging and the USSA Team, while Bangladesh will kick off its campaign on August 1 against South Africa Emerging in Pretoria.

In the double round-robin format, each team will face the other two teams twice, with the top two sides advancing to the final, which is scheduled for August 12 at Tuks Oval in Pretoria. Following the tri-series, Bangladesh Emerging and South Africa Emerging will engage in a two-match four-day series. The first match will take place from August 16 to 19 at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom, and the second and final match is slated for August 23 to 26 at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.

Bangladesh has already announced its squad, which includes several players who have shown promising performances in recent years and are considered strong contenders for future national team selection. Among them are Zakir Hasan and Mahidul Islam Ankon, both of whom have represented the Bangladesh national team. They are now aiming to revive their international prospects with strong performances during this tour.

The squad includes Zakir Hasan, Mahfijul Islam, Ifthakhar Hossain Ifti, Shahadat Hossain, Samiun Basir Ratul, Moin Khan, Rohanat Doullah Borson, Anamul Haque, Irfaan Shukkur, Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan Ankon, Iqbal Hasan Emon, Chowdhury Md Rizwan, Abu Hasim, Habibur Rahman, and Aminul Islam Biplob.
