Dhaka: Voters in Bangladesh can now access their voter number and polling station information through four newly introduced methods, as announced by the Bangladesh Election Commission (EC). These methods have been put in place to facilitate the upcoming national elections and referendum scheduled for February 12.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the EC has detailed these methods to ensure quick and accurate access to voter information. The first method involves the use of the Smart Election Management BD app, which can be downloaded from the Play Store or App Store. Once installed, voters should select the 'Find Polling Station' option and input their NID number and date of birth to receive their voter number, serial number in the voter list, and polling station details.
The second method provides a hotline service accessible by calling 105. Voters can speak directly with an operator by pressing 9 after calling. They will need to provide their NID number and date of birth to receive the necessary information. This service is available daily from 6:00 am to 12:00 midnight.
For the third method, voters can use the SMS service by typing PC followed by their NID number and sending it to 105. The voter number and polling station details will be returned via SMS.
Finally, voters can access their information through the Election Commission's website by visiting ecs.gov.bd. These measures aim to streamline the voting process and ensure all voters have access to their necessary details ahead of the elections.
