Bangladesh Drawn in Group B for 20th Asian Games Women’s Football Tournament

Dhaka: Bangladesh national women's football team has been drawn in Group B alongside Korea Republic, DPR Korea, and Myanmar for the 20th Asian Games, which will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. The official draw for the women's football tournament was held on Thursday in Japan, with the 12 participating teams divided into three groups.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the matches will be played from September 14 to October 2. The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will qualify for the quarter-finals. Bangladesh has previously competed only once in the Asian Games women's football tournament. At the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games in China, the women in red and green were eliminated in the group stage after registering one draw and two defeats in three matches.

The grouping for the tournament is as follows: Group A features Japan, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, and Thailand. Group B includes Korea Republic, DPR Korea, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. Group C comprises China, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, and Hong Kong China.
