Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced plans to organise a women’s T20 tournament this May. This initiative aims to provide competitive opportunities for first-division women cricketers and ensure the continuity of domestic cricket.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the tournament, named the BCB Women’s Cup T20, is set to take place from May 5 to May 14. It will feature 112 cricketers from the first division, with each team comprising 14 players. All participating cricketers will receive an honorarium of Taka 25,000, along with a daily allowance of Taka 800 throughout the tournament.

The teams for the tournament were finalized through a players’ draft held on Tuesday. This draft process ensured a balanced distribution of players across all participating teams.
