Dhaka: The national male cricket team will visit Nepal for a bilateral series in March next year, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed here today. In the tour, they will play a three-match T20 International series against Nepal. The series will be dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in the recent devastating floods in Nepal. The matches will be played in Kathmandu on March 26, 28, and 30, 2027.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during a meeting between State Minister for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque and Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari, the talks of the tour were initiated. Ambassador Bhandari visited the Bangladesh Cricket Board today and met with BCB President Tamim Iqbal, during which the proposed tour and wider cricketing cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
The BCB expressed its sympathy for the victims of the devastating floods and recognized the significance of dedicating the series to their memory, the BCB said in a statement. The three matches will provide an opportunity for Bangladesh and Nepal to come together through cricket and convey a message of friendship and solidarity at a time of great loss.
The BCB also assured the Nepal Cricket Association of its continued cooperation and support in the broader development of cricket in Nepal. The areas of collaboration will include the exchange of men's and women's tours, High Performance programmes, training and technical support, and other development initiatives that can benefit players and cricket personnel of both countries.
