Dhaka: Bangladesh registered their fourth successive win in the four-nation SAFFU-10 Women's Championship by defeating Bhutan 3-0 in the return match held at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the hosts continued to lead the league table with 12 points from four matches, while Bhutan remained with three points from the same number of matches. In the match, Sree Moti Trishna Rani scored twice in the 33rd and 66th minutes, and Sapna added another goal for Bangladesh.
Earlier in the tournament, Bangladesh, considered the favorite, defeated Sri Lanka 9-1 and narrowly beat Nepal 3-2, along with a previous 4-1 win over Bhutan. Bhutan, on the other hand, faced a 1-6 loss to Nepal, achieved a 5-0 win over Sri Lanka, and lost to Bangladesh 4-1.
Bangladesh is scheduled to play their remaining matches against Sri Lanka on July 19 and Nepal on July 21. The tournament features four teams: Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka. The team that tops the league table after a double round-robin will be crowned champion.
