Dhaka: The Bangladesh baseball team is scheduled to leave for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) tomorrow morning to participate in the Baseball United Arab Classic Baseball Championship, which will take place from November 6-11 in Dubai. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of nine countries, including Bangladesh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan, Palestine, and host UAE, will compete in the international event. The teams are divided into two groups and will play in a league format. Bangladesh has been placed in a group with Pakistan, Afghanistan, UAE, and India, while the other group comprises Palestine, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Bangladesh team will begin their campaign against Pakistan on November 7, followed by a match against Afghanistan on November 8. They will face UAE and India in their remaining group matches on November 9. The national team roster includes players such as Abdus Alam Chowdhury, Tonoy Das, Ajgor Hossain, and several others, with Azimul Haque Hakim and Al Amin Hossain Ripon as standbys. The team is led by Rounok Alom and managed by Aminul Islam Liton, with Hiroki Owatanabe serving as the head coach, supported by coaches Azom Ali Khan and Rafiq Mia Chowdhury.
