Bangladesh Bar Council Election Scheduled for May 19

Dhaka: The election to the Bangladesh Bar Council, the apex regulatory body for lawyers in the country, has been scheduled for May 19. The unanimous decision was made during a meeting of the Bar Council held on Thursday, as revealed in a press release signed by its Secretary (District and Sessions Judge) Mohammad Kamal Hossain Sikder.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was presided over by Attorney General and Bangladesh Bar Council Chairman Senior Advocate Barrister Md. Ruhul Quddus Kazal. The meeting took place at the Bar Council building in the capital and included the presence of key committee chairmen and council members. Notable attendees were Finance Committee Chairman A.S.M. Badrul Anwar, Legal Education Committee Chairman Senior Advocate Abdullah Al Mamun, Relief Committee Chairman Advocate Md. Shafiqul Islam, Roll and Publication Committee Chairman Advocate Md. Mynul Ahoshan, House Committee Chairman Md. Mohosin Miah, and Law Reform Committee Chairman Advocate Kazi Enayet Hossain. Council members Advocate A.T.M. Foyez Uddin, Senior Advocate Shah Md. Khasruzzaman, and Advocate Md. Nazrul Islam Khan also participated in the meeting.
