Bangladesh Army Hosts Event for Families of July Uprising Martyrs and Injured

Dhaka: Bangladesh Army today organized a reception in honor of the families of those who became martyred and injured in the July uprising at the ‘Army Multipurpose Complex’ in Dhaka Cantonment today. Members of a total of 72 families of the injured and martyred were present at the event, said an ISPR press release.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman addressed the reception ceremony. Referring to the July uprising as a landmark event in the history of Bangladesh, he stated that those who participated in the uprising are the pride of the nation. He highlighted how the young generation not only participated in the movement but also demonstrated how to pursue rightful demands with truth and justice.



General Waker-Uz-Zaman emphasized that the Bangladesh Army has always supported the July uprising fighters in fulfilling their dreams. He pledged that the Bangladesh Army will continue to stand by the motherland in the future, as it has in the past, upholding the motto, ‘We are in war, we are in peace, we are everywhere, we are on the side of the country’.



The Army Chief expressed hope that with collective efforts marked by patriotism, nationalism, honesty, humanity, and discipline, the country will achieve significant prosperity and emerge as a happy and prosperous nation. He urged everyone to collaborate towards fulfilling this dream.



At the reception, the Bangladesh Army provided financial assistance to each family of the injured and martyrs of the July uprising.
