Dhaka: Wicketkeeper-batter Juairiya Ferdous has earned her maiden ODI call-up following consistent performances across various levels, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. The 20-year-old has previously featured in seven T20 Internationals for Bangladesh. Meanwhile, right-handed middle-order batter Sharmin Sultana returns to the ODI setup after a gap of seven years, adding experience to the side. The team will be led by captain Nigar Sultana Joty, with Nahida Akter serving as the vice-captain.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sri Lanka Women’s team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on April 17 to play three ODIs and an equal number of T20 Internationals. All three ODIs will be held at Rajshahi Divisional Stadium on April 20, 22, and 25, while the three T20Is are set to take place at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on April 28, 30, and May 2.
The squad for the series includes Nigar Sultana Joty as captain and Nahida Akter as vice-captain, alongside players like Farzana Haque, Sobhana Mostary, Fahima Khatun, and Sharmin Akter Supta. Others in the squad are Ritu Moni, Shorna Akter, Rabeya Khan, Sarmin Sultana, Marufa Akter, Fariha Islam Trisna, Sultana Khatun, Shanjida Akther Maghla, and the newly included Juairiya Ferdous. Standby players are Dilara Akter, Shorifa Khatun, Farjana Easmin, and Taj Nehar.
