Dhaka: Bangladesh and Switzerland are set to hold the 6th Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in Dhaka on June 1, with the goal of enhancing bilateral relations.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Bangladesh, Reto Renggli, met with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shama Obaed Islam, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday. Their discussions focused on mutual interests and the longstanding development cooperation between the two nations. The State Minister expressed gratitude for Switzerland’s ongoing support in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.
The discussions also explored potential areas for expanding cooperation, including trade and investment, pharmaceuticals, skills development, education, culture and sports, women empowerment, and strengthening people-to-people contacts, as stated by the Ministry. The Swiss Ambassador congratulated the State Minister on her new role and expressed optimism about further strengthening Bangladesh-Switzerland relations in the years to come.
